Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and faketextmaker.app ("Fake Text Maker", "we", "us"), which runs the website at https://faketextmaker.app. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it. These terms take effect on the date shown above.

What Fake Text Maker is

Fake Text Maker is a free tool for making made-up text conversations that look like iPhone chats. You can download them as images or videos, or have our AI writer draft one for you. Nothing you make here is a real message: it isn't sent to anyone and doesn't come from any phone number.

What you may use it for

Fake Text Maker is for entertainment, creative work (stories, scripts, fan fiction and videos), prototypes and design mockups, and education, such as showing people how easy a fake screenshot is to make.

What you must not do

You must not use Fake Text Maker, or anything you make with it, to:

• scam, phish or defraud anyone;
• impersonate a real person, company, bank, government agency or any other organization;
• harass, threaten, bully, stalk or humiliate anyone;
• make fake evidence of any kind, for example for a legal dispute, a police report, an insurance claim, a complaint at work or a breakup;
• defame anyone, meaning false statements that harm someone's reputation;
• fake payment records, money transfers, receipts, delivery notices or verification codes;
• break any law, or help someone else do any of the above.

We may block anyone who misuses the service, and we may cooperate with law enforcement when the law requires it.

When you share what you make

If you post a screenshot or video where other people will see it, you are responsible for making sure nobody mistakes it for a real conversation. Say it's made up (for example "fake text" or "fictional") whenever there is any chance of confusion. Don't use a real person's name, photo or phone number without their permission.

Your content

You are responsible for everything you put into Fake Text Maker (names, messages, photos) and for what you do with the result. As far as we're concerned, what you make is yours; we don't claim ownership of it.

When you export a chat or use the AI writer, we keep an anonymous copy of the chat's text and settings, as our Privacy Policy explains. You allow us to store, review and analyze that copy to run, protect and improve Fake Text Maker. We don't publish it or sell it.

The AI writer

The AI writer only writes fictional conversations. It refuses some requests, for example chats written as real, named people or organizations, scam texts, fake proof, threats, harassment and sexual content involving minors. AI output can be wrong, strange or unsuitable, so read it before you use it. You are responsible for what you do with it. The number of free scripts per day is limited, and the limit may change.

Trademarks

Fake Text Maker is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. iPhone and iMessage are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Other names on this site belong to their owners. The chats are drawn to look like iOS, but we don't use Apple's fonts or logos.

The service is provided as is

Fake Text Maker is free and provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise that it will always be available, work in every browser or produce a particular result. We may change, limit or stop any part of it, including the AI writer, at any time. Drafts are stored only in your browser, and we are not responsible if they are lost.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for any loss of data, or for how you or anyone else uses content made with Fake Text Maker. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to US$50.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from your misuse of Fake Text Maker or from content you make or share with it.

Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use Fake Text Maker. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these terms takes away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
